Sensors and Level Measurements

Sensors & Level Measurements

‘Sensors’ is a very broad term that can be used in many different ways. At Koning & Hartman, we specialise in the following types of sensors:

  • Switching strips
  • Switching mats
  • Air pressure strips and switches
  • Pressure transmitters
  • Float switches
  • Level gauges
  • Level transmitters
  • Operating and securing doors and gates

Level Measurements

For every tank in which liquids are stored, some form of level measurement is required. This can be either a switch that signals when a certain level (or multiple levels) has been reached, or a continuous measurement that provides the current level at all times.

We have the right solution for all different applications, which is often designed and manufactured entirely to customer specifications. This takes into account all the different variables for the application in question, such as process connection, pressure, medium, switching points, desired accuracy, temperature, electrical connection, certifications, etc.

Depending on the requirements and the process, we can perform level measurements using float systems or pressure transmitters (hydrostatic pressure measurement).

Thanks to our long-standing relationships with BD-sensors, Kubler, Bliss Europe, Jumo and Reed, we are always able to deliver the right solution.

Machine safety

Safety around machinery is crucial to prevent injuries. We work together with Bircher Reglomat to supply switch strips, switch mats and associated safety relays.

Bircher's safety mats are used to detect people or objects on a defined surface. In combination with our safety relays, they form a certified system for securing danger zones and thus protecting people. Our switch strips and mats, in combination with the correct relay, meet the highest safety standards PLd and PLe. Switch mats are distinguished by their robust design. They are available in standard and customer-specific versions.

Bircher's switch strips are always manufactured to customer specifications and, like the switch mats, meet the highest safety requirements when combined with the appropriate safety relays from our portfolio. The wide range of different types of rubber strips offers a wide choice for determining the follow-up path and appearance.

Control and security of doors and gates

Bircher offers a comprehensive range of sensors for controlling and securing automatic doors and gates. The various sensors use infrared and radar technology for both indoor and outdoor applications, including revolving doors, sliding doors, gates, roller doors, overhead doors, etc.

Activating the opening system provides convenience for the user, but the moving parts must not cause injury. That is why we also supply all possible sensors for safety purposes that stop the door if necessary.
